Dear Nana, you rock!

This is a post about the awesome lady I'm so lucky to have in my life. My Nana was the one who started all the crafty little urges I get every now and again. She's the one who taught me to cross stitch, how to crochet (even though I never quite got that until much later in life) and even ingrained the urge to bake fresh bread. She has really inspired me with all the projects she's completed in her life. One day I'll have to show you the quilt that three generations of her family have worked on. Amazing!

Anyways, I had asked for a quilt from her for Bracken and I. As a child my Nana always made them for my sister and I, but they always ended up getting destroyed, and I had no quilt big enough to fit on my bed. So for Christmas my Nana made us a lovely quilt that sits in my bedroom and definitely helps it look like actual mature adult married grown ups live in this house.

Want to see?

Wow!! I love it. I was so happy to find it underneath that pretty paper. And I'll always remember Roger watching me and then saying to my Nana: Wait, you made that?

That's right. That's my Nana, and I love her and all her bad ass ways. One of these days I'll show you just how Bad Ass that lady is. Can you stand the wait?!

Zombies! The Edited Post!!

Rawr braaaians, rawr.

Oh man, I've got a thing for zombies. They scare the crap out of me, but I love them just the same. I've been making little magnets for quite some time and have been dying for some good pictures. Thankfully my good friends Katie and Jesse let me borrow their camera so I can take decent pictures of my crafts.

First off... the planner!! That's right! my lovely little planner, the one I plan to use for more than a week. I can do it people. I can stay focused. I can... man... a cookie sounds awesome right now!

I didn't buy it this way. This was just a boring gray planner that I put pretty paper on. Why you ask? Because pretty paper makes everything better :)

Anywho, I also have recently finished some more zombies. I use the original pattern from Needlenoodles and then I design unique zombies and make them into magnets. Adorable, and of course, really fun!

One of the first ideas I had for unique themed zombies were the scrubs cast. First off, because Bkins and I were very into scrubs at the time. Secondly, they work in a hospital. You know they are the first to turn. Keep that in mind, people.
So first off, Elliot, JD, Carla, and Turk!
And of course, Ted and the Janitor. I need to make Dr. Cox and Dr. Kelso still. Someday!

Oh, and my new pride and joy... the L4D characters. Francis, Zoey, Louis, and Bill. Eee! I was going to give these to my friend Roger for Christmas, but I didn't finish in time. Really, it's for the best, cuz I wanted them. And now we have the random zombies I've designed. After I made the two on the left I kind of felt they looked like Kelly and Ryan from The Office. In their underwear! The underwear was Bkins idea, and I loved it. Thank goodness for imaginative husbands!I love the blue tipped punk and the fat one. They're usually the second to go.The one on the left is the first girl zombie I ever designed. That's why it looks like she has an M on her head. I'm a bright one :DAnd a better designed girl there on the left. The zombie on the right was the one who made me realize I could do a Ted (from scrubs) zombie.
So, what do you think? Did these change your life?

If not, get lost.

I blew it.

I was doing so well. I got a planner (as I do every first of the year) and I'm actually gonna use it! For more than a week! I've got a list of daily things to get done, and gosh, I coulda! But, I didn't. I ended up staying up until midnight to read the impossibly romantic story of The Pioneer Woman and only got half of what I wanted done.

I did go work out though, so at least there is that.

I planned on making my self a beautiful bento box filled with tasty goodness from the cook book Bracken got me for Christmas, but inexplicably, it's no where to be found. Dangit dangit dangit, says I. However, there are still many tasty treats for me to eat, I just have to go make them. Really should do that now... aaah, but sitting here feels nice. La de da.

I finally finished a small project last night. I'm very happy with it and can't wait to show you. I suppose it'll go on my *to do*.

Sunshine and raspberries!
